Thomas is the lovable blue tank engine that is cheeky and somewhat fussy. He is over eager but is the best of friends with other engines. He pulses his coaches Annie and Clarabel.

Percey is Thomas’ best friend and his favorite job is to pull the mail cars. This happy little engine is always happy to help out.

James is a vain red engine that is proud and thinks he is splendid. He is a medium sized engine that can pull both passengers and freight cars.

Gordon is a senior member of Sir Topham Hatt’s engines. He is the fastest and most powerful engine on the rails. Proud and boastful, Gordon is good hearted and will always help out the smaller engines.

Edward is a very kind older engine who is friendly and willing to help all engines on the island.

Emily is an elegantly designed Single Sterling Engine with a brass dome. She was given her own coaches to pull by Sir Topham Hatt.

Henry is a fast, long engine that is prone to illness and break downs. None the less, he is a good friend to the other engines.

Toby is a Tram engine that was brought to Sodor after his own line was closed down. He pulls his faithful coach Henrietta.

Bill and Ben are the mischievous identical twin engines that although very useful are always playing tricks and getting into trouble.

Diesel is a troublesome diesel engine, scheming his way to stir up trouble for the other engines.

Donald and Douglas are the Scottish twin engines that do not wanted to be parted from one another. They are hard workers and good at plowing snow.

Duncan is a small yellow engine that often likes to play tricks on the bigger engines. He like to sing, giving him the nick name Rock and Roll.

Fearless Freddie is an older engine that likes to race and has found secret short cuts on the island.

Fergus is a traction engine that shunts trucks at the Cement Works. This blue engine is reliable and knows all the rules.

Harvey is a tough crane engine that likes to work hard with no job too big. The other engines once teased him because they thought he looked funny, but he proved to be very useful.
